English Language Through Culture

At the CCC Language Center we are always developing ways to motivate our students to learn and enjoy their classes. We believe that understanding people and their culture is an essential part of their learning process.

As part of this commitment, a new course has recently opened; ‘English Language through Culture’.  English is being taught in our school to meet the needs of a modern, globalized, technology oriented world. Nothing changes more rapidly than people and their language. New words appear every day.  Language is more than just a way of communication; it is a way of life.

This new course offers an informal but structured learning atmosphere, where students are exposed to English through topics that translate into real life experiences, such as current events, traditions, history and habits in English speaking countries.

Traditional learning methods are not being dismissed. Grammatical structures, correct spelling and pronunciation are important. We have now added new elements to make our classes more meaningful.

The course was opened with elementary school children. Different personalities find things in common and help each other through shared experiences and common interests. Children have access to the latest technology, such as the use of smart boards, thus making the class more appealing and interactive.

We want our students to fall in love with the English language. To understand all that is behind learning a new tongue; the opportunities that a second language will offer them in the future, academically, professionally, culturally and even socially. We want our children to embark in a great journey that will make them bilingual.
